Testimoninal from Hillwalk Tours – Hike the Beara Way
“If you need to relax and be looked after following a day of hiking or travelling, we would really recommend Sea Breeze Castletownbere B&B. With friendly and helpful people, comfortable rooms and great food, Sea Breeze provides it’s visitors with a lasting impression of how B&Bs should be run. We are delighted that we can offer our walkers a place like Sea Breeze B&B to stay.”
“Vacation in Ireland with Friends”
We wish we had stayed more than one night! It was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Our ensuite was large, execeptionally clean, and the beds were the most comfortable of any place we stayed while in Ireland. Our view was of the sea and it was super quiet. The place was cozy and welcoming. The McGurn’s make you feel so at home and the breakfast is out of this world – with Noralene adding her personal home grown herbs. Truly a great experience that we have been highly recommending.
“Stunning B&B in a fantastic Location”
We have just returned from a weeks stay at this B&B and what a fantastic place, not only are the rooms bright and airy and spotlessly clean but you have a wonderful lounge to relax in with views over the bay onto Bere Island you also have a fantastic sun terrace to sit on with the same views, Noralene & her family were so friendly and go out of their way to recommend places to visit and to eat in the evenings, she gives you the most fantastic breakfast with homemade breads & cakes, and as well as fruit and cereals she has a menu offering bacon & eggs and other goodies. It is only a 10 minute walk into Castletownbere where you can find great places to eat, we would recommend Jack Patricks as it was all fresh homemade food and great value for money 19 euros for a 4 course meal, also some great pubs, The people are so friendly and they made us feel so welcome. So if you are looking for what we would have to say is the best B&B we have ever stayed in then we would recommend you stay at the Sea Breeze, you will then see why we fell in love with not only the house but the lovely family that run it. We have taken away such wonderful memories of the area. Because we stayed for the week Noralene gave us the largest room which was located at the back of the property, it had a double bed and two singles in the room. She does have rooms at the front which overlook the bay, all the rooms come with ensuite shower rooms and have a tv and tea/coffee making facilities.

“One of the most beautiful spots in Southwest Ireland.”
Waking up and taking a walk outside after a great night sleep in a very comfortable room was terrific. The McGurn’s do a fantastic job of making you feel right at home. The breakfast was excellent with homegrown ingredients used to provide a great taste. Truly a breathtaking place which I highly recommend!
If you are looking for a nice, clean, friendly place to stay along the Beara Way this is a great B&B to stay. Spacious, clean rooms, a lovely breakfast and a wonderful host. Noralene and her daughter are so nice and helpful!
“Wonderful place to stay”
We had a lovely one-night stay in this B&B, and found it quiet, cosy, and comfortable. Our host Norleen gave us good leads on places to eat in Castletownbere, and we had one of our best meals of the trip there. Castletownbere provided a glimpse of a less-touristy Ireland which we really enjoyed. The breakfast was great. Highly recommended, and hope to return sometime!
“HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEA BREEZE!”
Thrilled to have chosen to stay at Sea Breeze B&B in Castletownbere. Noralene was terrific, and her breakfasts were wonderful!!! So much choice, so much quality!! The B&B is beautiful, spacious, and very clean. The view from the front patio was lovely, and we enjoyed time there sitting in the sun, taking in the view and chatting with new friends.
Would love to stay there again!!! Highly recommend to everyone! Loved the Beara Peninsula too, two nights was a good minimum but could have stayed longer and been very happy.
Room Tip: All rooms good, some do have water views. Ask.
“Lovely B and B – the ideal place to enjoy the beauty of the Beara Peninsula.”
Beautiful B and B located in the Beara Peninsula. The hosts, Noralene and Aidan, were very helpful and hospitable, and the rooms were beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and powerful shower. The breakfast is wholesome with a varied choice, and most impressive of all is the range of local produce on the breakfast menu, especially the cheese plate and kippers. The view of Bere Island is spectacular and the sun deck outside is a delightful spot. All in all, if you need a place to stay in Castletownbere, look no further than Sea breeze, which will make your holiday all the more memorable. Highly recommended! Great value for money.
P.S., Colin Farrell once stayed here during the filming of a movie some years ago.
“Fantastic place to stay, quality accommodation and great price”
This is one of the best B&BS I have stayed in recently, the situation is perfect for exploring the area, the rooms are really comfortable and spacious, and breakfast is delicious. Highly recommended!
We have travelled fairly extensively in Ireland over the past few years, and I can say that without doubt, “Sea Breeze” is one of the best we have ever stayed in. Perfect surroundings, charming hosts. Cannot be faulted.
